Ashli Rice

Bio

Her vocal ability has been described as world class by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Ashli Rice was born and raised in Delaware County, PA a suburb of Philadelphia. She performed in her first concert at the tender age of six at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Lansdowne, PA. 


As a teenager Ashli moved to Woodbridge, VA where her musical opportunities expanded participating in various talent shows and other events. At age 16 she auditioned and was given the opportunity to perform at the historic Apollo Theatre in Harlem NY for the acclaimed Amateur Night. 


Ashli graduated with honors from Morgan State University where she traveled with their world-renowned choir to various regions such as Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. Also with the choir she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC. 


Ashli being trained from a young age in the gospel, classical, musical theatre, and jazz genres has various credits to her name. She toured the People’s Republic of China starring in the hit musical “FAME”. She’s gone on to perform in various musical theater roles in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. 

She has been the featured national anthem singer for Major League Soccer team The Philadelphia Union rendering the National Anthem for the last 3 seasons. The team also commissioned Ashli to perform for the National Soccer Coaches Convention where her rendition of the anthem was performed at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Ashli also recently performed the anthem at the Wells Fargo Center for the recent NCAA champions Villanova basketball team.


Focusing on her career as a soloist Ashli has performed in various venues around Philadelphia including City of Chester’s River Front Ramble, Juneteenth Festival, Clef Club, and Warmdaddys. 


Ashli has been the featured soloist for Jazz recording artist Tony Craddock, Jr. and Coldfront on his album Convection and most recent album H2O. With the band Ashli has performed in outstanding venues such as Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club in Bethesda, Maryland. 


On March 2, 2019, Ashli Rice Music released Ashli's debut single, titled "Woman" via digital distribution. In February 2019, it was also revealed that Ashli would be featured in the upcoming issue of Women of More Magazine."


Ashli has also spent time teaching and mentoring young people in music in the Washington DC area and in Delaware County PA. Ashli loves public service and can be found giving back to her local community not just in music but elsewhere. She is influenced by artists such as Whitney Houston, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, and Adele.
